Do you need some support around an issue in your life?

There are many challenges in living the life we imagine. It can be difficult sometimes to move forward with the changes that we want to see in our lives.

Personalized therapy can help people of all ages overcome obstacles and step out on a path to the future that they have imagined.

Let me help you move forward. Call for an appointment today.

Embracing Life’s Transitions

There are so many changes in our lives. Some of them can really push us off balance. I love working with new parents, students managing college, and people of all ages struggling with relationship changes, job changes, or anything related to the various ways our identity changes over a lifespan. This mayindividual-stressed-at-work include those experiencing “empty nest,” death of a parent, or embracing our aging bodies and minds and all the opportunities these stages of life bring us.

We can feel like we’re falling apart when everything should be feeling so good. It can feel awful not being able to talk about how hard you find caring for your beautiful baby, or how empty your house and life feels when that same baby leaves home for a life away from you, or when you retire from a job. It is easy to feel like we shouldn’t “complain” and silently hide our pain away, waiting for it to disappear.

There is a better way to encounter these life transitions. In therapy you can explore the ways that new roles and stages of life affect us in a safe and non- judgemental place. Begin to reap the full benefit of all that these things have to teach us, about ourselves, those that we love, and what is important to us in our lives.

Pain and discomfort of life transitions can be doorways into a richer and fuller life. They can bring with them gifts that go way beyond what they appeared to hold at first glance.

Call now and make your way forward into all that is waiting for you on the other side.

Are you struggling with depression or anxiety?

If you’re feeling anxious or depressed sometimes just getting out of the house is a triumph.

individual-woman-at-windowSometimes the only, and the best thing a person can do is reach out for help. It is time to put the shame to sleep for a while and get help instead. I’d like to invite you to stop beating yourself up for not doing more, being more, being able to accomplish more.

When every day is a struggle to do what others might consider very little, it can be nearly impossible to believe that things could get better. I understand. I would like to try to help you access some of your deep inner resources and light the way to some relief without blame or judgment.

There is a way out of debilitating depression and anxiety. And it begins with reaching out for help.

I feel so overwhelmed.

It might be because of a past trauma, or you just might have a lot of anxiety, or be easily overstimulated by our busy and connected world.

Whatever it is, you can find support and understanding in therapy. There areindividual-woman-alone-smiling exercises and practices that can help you calm down, become more present, and help yourself cope—in the moment—with ADD overwhelm, panic or anxiety.

Therapy can help with developing different ways of looking and thinking about things (cognitions) that will help you learn to ease the panic ADD and overwhelm within you rather than fuel it. You do not have to live in fear.

Support for you is available to help you master these emotions and situations yourself, instead of them mastering you. The first step, reach out for the support. Let’s set up an appointment and get started.

Grief and loss

person sitting next to empty chairLosing someone close to you, an elderly parent, a pet, a job, or any number of life situations that constitute a loss can often surprise you with a lot of unexpected feelings.

Having a place to get support for your grief and loss can be a comfort and also help you move with and through the pain . This can be a time of major turmoil or quiet bereavement, either way, I’d love to be a support for you during this difficult time. Call for an appointment today.

Addressing Trauma

I understand the impact of trauma and how to create a safe environment to address and explore how a trauma may be affecting your life or the life of someone you love.

Young woman worryingTrauma is the deep impact something negative has had on your life. It may be something that happened to you directly, like a burglary, child abuse, an assault, a car accident. It could be the impact of something that you witnessed or experienced peripherally, like witnessing a crime, or a death.

Trauma can be something that happened recently or a long time ago but still impacts you today.

Skilled, trauma-informed therapy can help you to name, understand, repair, comfort and truly begin to cope in healthy ways with what happened to you. With help, it is possible to move forward in a way that is less impacted and weighed down with the unresolved and often scrambled feelings that a traumatic event produces.

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start.
It starts with a phone call.

Don’t hesitate. Start the change. I’m available to help you.
